We adopted Chii-Bear (stormy in foster care) in January. She is our first puppy and she is doing great! We take her to the doggy park frequently and have even ran into her sister Denali there. Overall she is wonderful and we are very happy we found safe sanctuary. Keep up the good work :)

We adopted on 3/29/12 a 1 yr old female Rottweiler Ellie (Skye). She is soooo wonderful. Great temperament and very sweet, loves people and every dog she sees. She knows some obedience commands. We will be taking her to dog obedience class in May which I can tell now she will pass with flying colors. My goal is to use her as a therapy dog, which she will do well with her sweet personality. Thank you for doing the rescue work that you do!!!

We adopted "Dolly"(snowflake) just a week ago and she is just perfect for our family! Each day she is more sure of herself and loves all the attention she is getting. She has a basket with a nice fluffy pillow to sleep on when she isn't sleeping on someones lap. She loves going outside and is doing really well with walking on the leash and potty training, she wants to please so much. My granddaughter and Dolly have fun together walking down the driveway and sitting on the couch reading a book. She has met the outside dogs and barn cats without much notice. There is one cat that has taken a fancy to her and likes to rub up against her. Dolly goes visiting family and runs errands with us. Just by looking at her, one can tell that she is enjoying life. She trots over to where I am, sits down at my feet and grins. I am so glad that we had the chance to adopt her. Thank you for all you do! Dolly thanks you too.

Hi, just wanted to let you know our wonderful dog Ruby(Annie at the foster home) is doing well. I never stayed in contact, but she will be four this July and has been a joy to our family. Although I got her for my husband and son she has turned out to be more of a bestfriend to me. We truly love her. She was about 7 weeks old when we adopted her and was raised by one of the foster women. Thank you for that.
Sincerly,
Shannon

Last Dec. 23rd we had to put down our yorkie, Cody after loving him for 14 years. How do you recover? I think it was Cody that led us to another yorkie from S.A.F.E. We adopted Macy in May 2011, a 6#, 9 yr. old princess. She is so much the same as Cody, but so much different. We love her. We didn't know any history, but she has adjusted to our family like she was born into it. Don't know what she did before, but now she goes golfing with us ALL the time, just riding on the cart and watching. We live on the lake, so she loves boat rides and the paddle boat. Loves all the kids, grandkids, and granddogs. She loves walks, sitting on laps and especially belly rubs and petting! Not that we haven't had some peepee, poopoo issues, but she is worth it. Am so happy we saved her. Think Cody would approve. Thanks.

My husband and I adopted Dutch, formerly Max last February after loosing my 14 yr old lab,Puff. Dutch has not only been a joy to have but has brought new life to our family. Our 10 year old Husky who before only ate and slept, is now in better shape than he has ever been due to the play time thay have together. As I write this, Dutch, all 45lbs of him is sitting on my lap with his kong, his favorite toy. I didn't realize I could love another dog the way I loved my Puff but this boy is now my heart and soul. Thank you for all you do. We didn't save Dutch, he saved us. Those who say you can't buy love, have never bought a dog. With heart felt thankfulness, Jyl and Kyle :)

:)

Stopped by the site and thought we would give an update on Teller, our Boxador from S.A.F.E. We got him early 2009 and he has certainly turned out to be a wonderful companion and the best snuggle-bug ever. Thank you for rescuing him from the shelter and giving him a chance for a forever home with us!

I'm reporting on a scrawny puppy I adopted 3 years ago. Her name then was "Ruby", a large-breed mix. I renamed her Sasha. Sasha is now a healthy, happy 3-year old. She is sweet and sensitive, very bonded to me, as I am to her. People often comment on the intensity of her eyes. We've found joy together playing agility, and to date she's earned 10 agility titles. Thank you, S.A.F.E., for making this extraordinary dog available to me!
